For the last 17 years, Hub Box has been providing customers with the best Cornish burger experience across the West Country.
Since Richard Boon first opened our flagship Hub restaurant in 2003 on the harbour front in St Ives, the Hub Box name has steadily grown. Our simple passion for life-enhancing good food and drink has not changed from the start.
From redefining the bar culture in St Ives to spearheading a street food revolution in Cornwall & Devon, the Hub Box ethos always stayed the same. It began by looking for a place where we could take our families, meet our friends, and eat some of the best food the South West has to offer. As we found more great locations, we expanded throughout the South West and recently a little further afield.
Each Hub Box has been developed around this central theme but with its own character, celebrating the great and the good of each local area. From subtle hints in the decor to whole murals, and even local food and drinks specials dedicated to local fresh food suppliers.
We are always developing our menu and looking for new ways to make use of the rich source of local produce we have available in the South West. From traditionally farmed, grass-fed moorland cattle, to small cottage industries that make craft beer and cheeses, or fruit and veg supplied by Cornish growers; these relationships with our local producers are the heartbeat of our business.
Food is a sensory trigger that can evoke happy memories. As Hub Box has grown up, so have our loyal customers. We both understand that each visit to a Hub Box should be a celebration of the life we enjoy in Cornwall. To eat, drink and hang out with friends and family in a cool, relaxed environment is the essence of life.
As we grow, we strive to retain our independence. The head chef and managers become brand ambassadors and are encouraged to take ownership of each restaurant, shaping it to suit the local area.

Our suppliers:
We’re as fired up by our Cornish roots as the food we serve.
Life on the coast has schooled us in fresh-thinking and straight-talking. Which means us caring about the chips on our plates, and the farmer supplying our potatoes. Staying loyal to the producers who think like we do, supporting our team in high season and low, caring where we source our electricity and reducing how much waste we send to landfill. It means being aware of our local communities, beaches, and green spaces – wherever we are.
It all adds up to a better burger, coffee break or whatever takes your fancy. That’s how we make sure the good times roll. By making sure that behind the scenes, it’s all good too.
Policies and procedures put in place due to Covid-19
A new online booking system was introduced in the lead up to full reopening. We also made adjustments to how we operate all our restaurants, making sure we keep the safety of our customers and team as the most important thing. From face coverings, through to ordering at table and table sizes, all our procedures can be found here.
Our customer response to all our Covid-19 measures have been very positive and we have worked hard to get the blend between safety and hospitable atmosphere right.
