We have all felt the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic but one of the biggest to our region is that on
our local businesses, especially those that fall within the leisure and tourism sector.
From restaurants and cafes, to leisure facilities, attractions and places to stay – they have all been
affected, some more than others.
You may wonder how you can support them this Autumn and Winter. Here are our top tips:
1) Stay safe
This really is the most important one. Yes we want to support our local businesses but always
remember to do this safely. Always remember to:
- Follow social distancing guidelines
- Only visit if you feel that it is safe to do so
- Always follow the latest Government rules and guidance
2) Tell them that you’ve had a great time
Some of these businesses are having a really tough time at the moment and it may not seem
like much but simple things like saying hello and asking how they are, as well as telling them
what a great time you have had all makes a difference – you may make them smile which is
never a bad thing!
3) Share your smile
Wearing face coverings is so important to help stop the spread of the virus but this often hides
our smiles – so if you’ve had a great experience, tell people about it by posting on either
Instagram or Twitter, making sure you use with the hashtag #ShareaSmileSW
4) Tell your friends
It may sound obvious but as well as sharing your good experiences with us, tell your friends
